Skit Consent

features

✓ Google Consent Mode v2 for GTM & GA4
✓ Server-rendered — no JS framework, no jQuery
✓ Accessible (keyboard, screen reader, focus states)
✓ No third-party calls, no external services
✓ Script blocking until consent
✓ License key + updates via yearly license

Consent without cloud, without subscription, without bloat

Most consent tools are built for agencies managing a hundred websites: a vendor account, a monthly subscription per domain, consent records on third-party servers, and every page view phoning home. For your own WordPress site that is oversized — it costs money, load time and privacy documentation.

The actual job is lean: load services only after consent, report the state correctly to Google Consent Mode, document the decision verifiably. That is exactly what Skit Consent is built for.

solution

✓ Everything on your server — no account, no subscription, no third-party transfer
✓ Server-rendered banner — one small CSS and one JS file
✓ Google Consent Mode v2 reported correctly to GTM/GA4
✓ Consents logged anonymized (Art. 7 GDPR)

Everything a consent needs

Cookie banner

Four designs (bar, card, modal, corner), custom texts and colors, live preview. Shows only the categories actually in use — with optional per-service selection. Accessible: keyboard, screen reader, focus states.

Website scanner

Scans posts, Divi modules and the rendered homepage for external services, suggests missing activations and lists unknown third-party hosts. Fully local — automatically every week.

Content blocker

Detects YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Spotify, SoundCloud, Meta and X/Twitter and replaces them with a placeholder featuring a "load content" button.

Script blocker

Tracking scripts (e.g. Meta Pixel) only load after consent. External stylesheets like Google Fonts can be blocked as well.

Consent Mode v2

Sets the default "everything denied" and reports every decision correctly to GTM/GA4. Tags keep running in a limited mode until consent is given.

Evidence & statistics

Every consent is logged anonymized (Art. 7 GDPR) and exportable as CSV. Opt-in rates per category and service at a glance.

Service declaration

Per service: provider, purpose, privacy link and cookie list — expandable in the banner and as a table via the [sk_consent_services] shortcode for your privacy policy. Custom services via UI, no code.

Setup assistant

Guides you through setup in six steps — legal pages, tracking, blockers, services, appearance, test — with automatic status checkmarks.

Divi 5 module

Native "Cookie Settings" module: a revoke button anywhere in your layout, with Divi's button design options. For Divi sites — never a requirement.

Runs wherever WordPress runs

Skit Consent is theme-agnostic and needs no page builder. On Divi 5 sites you additionally get a native module for the revoke button — a bonus, not a requirement.

compatible with

✓ Any WordPress theme — Divi 5 included, but never required
✓ Caching plugins — the server always serves the blocked variant, unlocking happens in the browser
✓ GTM/GA4 — only loaded after window.load, good for PageSpeed
✓ Multilingual — all texts customizable and translatable via the skit-consent text domain

The banner is live on this page right now

Skit Consent runs in production on diviskit.com — the banner you saw on your first visit comes from this plugin. Open it and inspect the categories, service lists and settings live:

The consent you set there applies to this website. To revoke it there is a discreet button or footer link — and on Divi sites the "Cookie Settings" module.

reference

In production on sascha-kohler.at — its footer credits "Skit Consent – a product of diviskit.com".

Setup in six steps

Installation

Upload the plugin ZIP under Plugins → Add New and activate. The getting-started wizard then walks through six steps: legal pages, tracking (optional), blockers, services, appearance, test.

Consent Mode v2

No GTM knowledge needed: without tracking you leave the ID fields empty. With GTM/GA4 you only enter the ID — the plugin handles Consent Mode itself, including the "everything denied" default.

Revocation & docs

Visitors change their consent via the floating button, a footer link or the Divi module. The service table for the privacy policy is provided by the [sk_consent_services] shortcode.

Support & changelog

Support via hello@diviskit.com. The changelog ships with the plugin (readme.txt); update support and license management run through diviskit.com.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Google Tag Manager knowledge?

No. Without tracking you simply leave the ID fields empty. With GTM/GA4 you only enter the ID — the plugin handles Consent Mode and the signals itself.

Are YouTube videos really blocked?

Yes. The blocker replaces recognized embeds with a placeholder. Only "load content" (once) or "always allow" (persistent, per-category consent) loads the video.

Does it work with caching plugins?

Yes. The plugin always serves the blocked variant — unlocking happens in the browser. Cached pages are no problem.

How do I ask visitors for consent again?

Increase the consent version by 1 in the settings. All stored decisions become invalid and the banner appears again.

What happens to my settings on updates?

All settings are preserved. When migrating from the predecessor plugin jzl-consent, your texts are carried over automatically.

Does the plugin replace legal advice?

No. Skit Consent provides the technical implementation — consent, blockers, evidence. Which services on your website require consent is a legal question you should clarify with a professional if in doubt.
